Kosmos Energy Ltd. (NYSE: KOS) has begun trading on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the ticker “KOS”, the Dallas-based company said Aug. 21.
Kosmos, which has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) since 2011, expects the London listing to attract more European investment funds and specialist international oil and gas investors that were unable to hold the company’s shares due to its listing outside of a European regulated market.
Andrew G. Inglis, chairman and CEO of Kosmos, said this secondary listing is the next step in the company’s evolution.
“Our NYSE listing has enabled Kosmos to attract blue-chip investors and given us access to significant opportunities,” Inglis said in a statement on Aug. 2. “We selected the LSE for our secondary listing because of its strong liquidity, reputation for transparency, and participants’ knowledge of the role of frontier exploration and development in our industry.”
