McDermott International Inc. received a brownfield contract for engineering, procurement, construction and installation of a flow assurance and looping project offshore Qatar from RasGas Co. Ltd., the company said Nov. 9.
There are 74 miles of 6- and 8-inch pipeline and topside modifications, and work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2017.
McDermott has previously fabricated and installed numerous RasGas facilities offshore Qatar. Currently, McDermott has executed concept studies and FEED projects under an engineering service agreement it has with RasGas. McDermott is also helping upgrade and replace three helidecks.
McDermott’s teams based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will do the engineering, procurement and fabrication, while vessels from its global fleet will handle installation.
Revenue for the order will be included in McDermott’s third quarter 2015 backlog.
