Jason E. McFarland has been appointed as interim president of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), and Stephen A. Colville has resigned as president and CEO, the association said Nov. 30. McFarland’s appointment is effective immediately.
Most recently, McFarland was vice president and chief of staff at IADC, and took those positions in 2008 and 2013, respectively. He has worked at the association for 20 years.
Colville had been president and CEO for the past three and a half years, Ed Jacob, the 2015 IADC chairman and president and COO of Independence Contract Drilling, said.
Jacob added that Colville helped facilitate IADC’s WellSharp fit-for-purpose well control training and assessment program, and helped establish the Houston-based association’s Well Control Institute.
