Paul Ebdale resigned as CEO of Malaysia’s Mitra Energy Inc. and its subsidiaries, and also resigned as a director. Jerry Korpan also resigned as a director. Additionally, Paul Blakeley, Cedric Fontenit and David Neuhauser joined the board, the company said June 8.

Blakeley was appointed as executive chairman, and Michael Horn became the interim CEO, Mitra added.

Ebdale was a founding member of Mitra in 2005, helping to build its E&P portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region.

Korpan had been a director of the company since 2008, and had become chairman in 2014. Under Blakeley as executive chairman, Mitra will focus on acquiring production in the near term and follow-on development activity.

Most recently, Blakeley was at Talisman Energy Inc. since 1994. While working as executive vice president of Asia Pacific & Middle East for Talisman, Blakeley helped build Talisman Asia Pacific into a multibillion-dollar company, Mitra said.

Blakeley earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of London. He became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.

Horn spent the last 12 years of a career spanning more than 25 in the industry with Talisman. His experience spans Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. Mitras said Horn identified and closed several transactions for Talisman in Asia.

Horn has a bachelor’s degree from Dundee University, and diplomas from Dundee University and Edinburgh University in Scotland.

Fontenit and Neuhauser will be shareholder representatives on the board of directors, Mitras said.

Fontenit is a senior member of the investment team at Tyrus Capital S.A.M. and has worked in investment banking and hedge funds for 16 years, joining Tyrus in 2009.

He has a master’s degree from Hautes Etudes Commerciales in France and a master’s degree from Paris-XI University.

Neuhauser is founder and managing director of Illinois-based Livermore Partners, a private alternative asset manager.

Neuhauser has a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University.
