The Marine Spill Response Corp. (MSRC) finished its Deep Blue Program and is ready to respond to an oil spill incident, if and when necessary.

The MSRC repositioned one of its 210-ft (64-m) oil spill response vessels (OSRVs), the Deep Blue Responder, from the Atlantic Coast to its site in Port Fourchon, LA. Currently, seven responder-class OSRVs are pre-positioned within 60 hours of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico (GOM) operations.

Additionally, the company pre-engineered its five storage barges in the GOM as skimming barges. The barges have 48,000 barrels of temporary storage capacity and onboard skimming capability.
