Nordic Maritime has landed a five-year charter contract valued at $70 million for its DP2 IMR vessel, Mokul Nordic, by Noble Energy, Nordic said in a news release.

Mokul Nordic is a DP2 VS470 MKIII subsea service vessel capable of ROV / IMR operations.

Mokul Nordic will complete the charter she is now performing with the Norwegian oil major, Statoil, on [Nov. 1, 2014], and will immediately mobilize to the Mediterranean to start the long-term charter with Noble Energy,” Nordic Maritime CEO Kjell Gauksheim said in the release. “The vessel will be performing ROV operations as well as environmental and field development surveys during her five-year charter period for our client.”

The vessel has a 100-ton active heave compensated offshore knuckle-boom crane and built-in swell compensation systems to 2,000 m (6,562 ft) of water depth.
