Downhole tool manufacturer Peak Well Systems completed its new gas pressure testing facility in Aberdeen, Scotland, the company said April 7. The facility is part of its R&D commitment, the company added.

In-house ISO14310 validation testing of Peak product lines can be done in the facility, up to the highest V0-Grade (zero gas leak). The facility can run tests at temperatures up to 200 C (392F) and pressures of up to 15 kpsi for prolonged periods of time in simulated gas wells.

The test bay can accommodate test fixtures up to 30ft long, and is equipped for remote monitoring and measurement of digital test data using a flexible 16–channel recording system.

The facility complies with UK health and safety regulations, and was certified by chartered explosives engineer, Peak said.

Peak opened testing facilities in Perth, Australia, in 2014. There, testing was done on the SIMPLUS range of V3-Grade ISO14310 plugs, which were verified and certified by Det Norske Veritas.

The facilities in both countries are available for rental, the company said.
