Pedro Pullen Parente has been named as CEO of Petrobras following the resignation of Aldemir Bendine, the company said in a news release.
Bendine also resigned from the boards of Petrobras and Petrobras Distribuidora – BR. Luciano Galvão Coutinho also resigned from the Petrobras board.
In addition to naming Parente as CEO, the board also appointed him as a board member.
Parente, an engineer, is currently a member of the Board of Directors of SBR-Global and an executive partner of the Prada group of consulting and financial advisory companies, according to the news release. He served as COO of RBS Group between 2003 and 2009 and president and CEO of Bunge Brasil from 2010 to 2014. He previously served as member of Petrobras’ Board of Directors between March 24, 1999, and Dec. 31, 2002, and as chairman of the board as of March 25, 2002.
