Erin Energy Corp. has commenced production from the Oyo-8 well in OML 120 offshore Nigeria, the company said in a news release.
Oyo-8, which was drilled in third-quarter 2014 to a total depth of about 1,850 m (6,100 ft), was completed horizontally in the Pliocene formation, the release said. Oyo-8 is located in about 300 m (6,100 ft) of water and is producing into the FPSO vessel Armada Perdana. The well is expected to produce about 7,000 bbl/d of oil following cleanup and optimization of choke size.
Erin Energy is the operator of the Oyo Field and has a 100% interest in the block.
