Operator Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and its partners started production at the Lucius Field, according to a press release. The field is located about 380 km (236 miles) southwest of Port Fourchon, La., in water depths of 2,160 m (7,086 ft).
Lucius was developed with a truss spar floating production unit (FPU), a cylindrical shaped vertical platform. The FPU has the capacity to process up to 80,000 bbl/d of oil and 12.7 MMcm/d (450 MMcf/d) of natural gas.
The field is in the Keathley Canyon area of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
