The Queensland government has called for expressions of interest to explore for petroleum and gas resources on prospective land in the Bowen Basin of central and southwest Queensland, Australia, an announcement said.
The two parcels of land open for competitive tender for exploration rights with a cash bid component cover about 350 sq km (135 sq miles) of land in the Rolleston and Injune areas of the basin.
This is one of the largest land releases for areas with oil and gas deposits in Queensland. The successful applicant will receive an authority to prospect exploration permit for an initial term of six years.
The tender process will close on Jan. 29, 2015.
