Aker Solutions has received a green light from the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority for its prospectus for the demerger of the company into two entities—Aker Solutions Holdings ASA,which will be renamed Aker Solutions ASA, and Akastor ASA. Completion of the demerger is due by the end of the month.
The new Aker Solutions will offer subsea and field design, carried out in the areas of subsea and umbilicals, maintenance modifications and operations, and field design engineering. Akastor ASA will operate as an oilfield services company, continuing with activities mainly related to drilling technologies, process systems and surface products as well as business solutions, financial assets and real estate.
