Russ Ford and Robert (Rob) Rice were appointed to the board of directors at GATE Energy, a press release said April 19.

Ford currently serves on the board of directors at Pacific Exploration & Production Corp. and also on the U-M Energy Institute Advisory Board, and as a company consultant.

Prior to joining GATE, Ford was executive vice president of contracting and procurement for Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE: RDS.A), handling supply chain activity. Prior to that, he was executive vice president for onshore, leading Shell’s North American shale drilling, development and producing operations. He also was chairman of the board at Aera Energy in California, the press release said.

Ford earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s of business administration degree from California State University. Ford has more than 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

Currently, Rice is the COO of Archrock Inc. Previously, he was president of Exterran Energy Solutions LP. Prior to that, he was vice president of Hanover Compressor Co.-Gulf Coast business unit.

Rice earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University and served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight test engineer.
