Singapore, June 30, 2008: Jurong Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, has secured a contract from Larsen Oil & Gas to build a deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig at a contract value of US$640 (S$870) million.
The first drilling project will involve a proposed two-well simulfrac with approximately 3,000-foot laterals at an anticipated depth of 1,700 feet each.
Numerous vertical and horizontal wells have been drilled, logged and put into production from the Haynesville formation within a 30-mile radius of Southern Star's Sentell Field.
