UK fluid transfer specialist FES International has won a US $2 million contract to supply Bend Stiffener Connectors (BSCs) to Italy’s Saipem for use on Total’s ultra-deepwater Egina field offshore Nigeria.

The BSCs will be used by Total on what is its third deep offshore development off Nigeria. The field is under development, with production scheduled to begin by the end of 2017. The Egina project, from FES’s perspective, consists of five dynamic umbilicals, with the BSCs to help connect them to the project’s Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.

The company has previously supplied Total with fluid transfer solutions on other projects including CLOV (Angola), Martin Linge (Norway) and Ichthys (Western Australia).

The equipment will be delivered in May this year.
