Irish-based San Leon Energy has acquired further equity in Moroccan onshore and offshore blocks following agreements with PetroMaroc, formerly Longreach Oil and Gas.
San Leon has acquired an additional 1.5% net working interest in the Sidi Mousa Block offshore Morocco where the SM 1 exploration well on the Nour prospect is being drilled and operated by Genel Energy. In exchange, San Leon will pay PetroMaroc’s share of minimum work obligations on the license.
In addition, PetroMaroc has transferred its 22.5% equity in Morocco’s Tarfaya onshore block to operator San Leon, which is seeking a license extension.
