ExxonMobil has selected SBM Offshore to construct, install, lease and operate an FPSO unit for the next phase of the Liza project offshore Guyana, according to a news release.
Designed to produce up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day (bbl/d), the FPSO unit will have associated gas treatment capacity of about 170 million cubic feet per day and water injection capacity of about 200,000 bbl/d, SBM said in the release. The converted VLCC FPSO unit, capable of storing 1.6 MMbbl of crude oil, will be spread moored in a water depth of 1,525 m.
Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd. is the operator and holds a 45% interest in the Stabroek Block, where Liza is located. Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. holds a 30% interest, while CNOOC Nexen Petroleum Guyana Ltd. holds a 25% interest.
