Schlumberger Ltd. will acquire 50% ownership in Spectrum’s Pelotas Basin multiclient program offshore Brazil, Spectrum said in a news release April 24.

The untapped hydrocarbon Pelotas Basin is on a 280,000 sq km margin on Brazil’s southeast coast.

Spectrum and Houston-based Schlumberger will provide more than 30,000 km of data prior to the upcoming Bidding Round 13, when Pelotas will be offered.

The recently acquired Pelotas Phase 1 seismic acquisition—7,438 km of 2-D data—is included.

Pelotas Phase 2 is currently being acquired and has 12,000 km of 2-D data and more than 12,000 km of recently reprocessed regional 2-D data.

Spectrum ASA is based in Perth, Western Australia.
