Norway’s Sevan Marine has been confirmed to carry out a new Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) study using its round-hull design for the Premier Oil-operated Bream development in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Sevan’s contract covers design of both a hull and marine systems for the FPSO. Premier has previously used Sevan’s cylindrical hull design for development of its Huntington field in the UK North Sea, which came onstream in April last year using the Sevan Voyageur FPSO chartered from Sevan Marine for five years.
Premier is planning to tap Bream with an FPSO and subsea production and water injection wells, with the Mackerel satellite field planned as a 17 km (10.6 mile) subsea tieback.
Bream and Mackerel together are estimated to contain around 50 MMboe of 2C contingent reserves with further upside in the nearby Herring prospect in Norwegian license PL406, on which an exploration well is planned as part of the Bream development. A final investment decision on Bream is planned for either later this year or early 2015, Premier indicated.
