Spike Exploration Holding AS has been awarded four licenses in the 2014 Norwegian Awards in Predefined Areas License Round on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS): three in the North Sea and one on Haltenbanken. Work commitments are a mix of reprocessing of seismic and acquisition of existing or new 3D-seismic, all followed by a drill-or-drop decision, according to a press release. The NCS licenses are as follows:
- PL775 is located to the east of Sleipner fields and to the southwest of the Johan Sverdrup discovery. Spike has a 20% interest. Tullow Oil Norge AS is operator with 40%, Concedo AS has 20% and Petoro AS has 20%.
- PL777 is located to the north of the Sleipner fields and to the east of the Glitne Field. Spike has a 20% interest. Det norske oljeselskap ASA is operator with 40%, Wintershall Norge AS has 20%, and Petoro AS has 20%.
- PL790 is located to the northwest of the Garantiana and Akkar Updip discoveries in PL554, where Spike holds a 30% working interest. Spike has a 25% interest in PL790. Det norske oljeselskap ASA is operator with 50%, and Capricorn Norge AS has 25%. Neighboring fields are Visund and Snorre.
- PL797 is located to the east of Spinell discovery in PL690, where Spike currently holds a 40% working interest. Spike has a 25% interest in PL797. Lotos Exploration and Production Norge AS is operator with 30%, Svenska Petroleum Exploration AS has 25%, and Petoro AS has 20%. The Mikkel Field is located to the east.
