BG Group has appointed Helge Lund as CEO and as executive director, effective March 2, 2015, the company said in a press release.
Helge is currently CEO of Statoil. Over the past 10 years, Helge has led the transformation of the business into a leading oil and gas company.
Helge previously served as the CEO of Aker Kvaerner and also as deputy CEO and CFO at the pharmaceutical division of Hafslund Nycomed.
