Technip has been awarded a contract from the Tupi BV consortium for the ongoing development of the Iracema North Field in Brazil’s Santos Basin presalt area, a news release said.
The consortium is controlled by Petrobras Netherland BV (PNBV, 65%) and constituted by BG (25%) and Galp (10%).
The contract covers the supply of 114 km (71 miles) of flexible pipes, including gas lift, gas injection and gas export lines, the release said. Technip’s operating center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will perform the engineering and project management.
The highly technological flexible pipes are designed to meet Petrobras’ requested service life for up to 30 years, sour service application, water depths of up to 2,500 m (8,202 ft) and high pressures to inject gas in the reservoir (gas injection pipes), the release said. Delivery is scheduled to start in the first half of 2015.
The flexible pipes will be produced at Technip's manufacturing sites of Vitoria and Açu, the new group’s new plant.
