TGS will continue its Explorer Series seismic acquisition program in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GoM).
Panfilo 3D will add 11,500 sq km (4,440 sq miles) to TGS’ multiclient library in the Lund and Henderson Central GoM protraction areas, TGS said in a press release. Acquisition will commence in fourth-quarter 2014 with the M/V Polarcus Adira towing 10-km (6-mile) streamers to image regional stratigraphy and deep-basin structures. Data will be available in late 2015.
“This data volume will represent a continued investment in the deepwater region of the Gulf of Mexico and will provide new, high-quality data over mainly open acreage, which will be available to the industry in future lease rounds,” said Rod Starr, TGS’ senior vice president for the Western Hemisphere.
