A joint venture between Thiess and Besix SA won a $260 million contract to develop the breakwater and materials offloading facility (MOF) of the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Western Australia.
The joint venture is responsible for the design and construction of the project’s breakwater and MOF near Onslow.
For the breakwater/MOF, Thiess is contracted to Bechtel, which is delivering the work packages for Chevron.
Thiess is currently completing two contracts for Chevron on the Gorgon LNG Project at Barrow Island including the design and construction of the accommodation village, and construction of the site preparation and temporary facilities.
Work is due to start later this year.
