Exploration research & analytics firm Hannon Westwood completed its acquisition of Novas Consulting Ltd. for an undisclosed sum, a press release said Aug. 6.

Through acquiring Novas, Hannon gains a team of globally experienced geoscientists, engineers and other specialists with technical expertise and international credentials.

Novas operates in West Africa, the Middle East, the North Sea, North Africa and Latin America, handling frontier exploration, mature field production, onshore and offshore, shallow and deepwater projects.

Hannon aims to expand its energy business intelligence and consulting offering through acquisitions and development projects, following an investment by private-equity company Energy Ventures in January, the press release said.

Ian Norbury, CEO of Hannon, said Novas’ employees are skilled in upstream projects, technical due diligence and asset and corporate appraisal.

U.K.-based Hannon Westwood has advised the oil and gas industry for more than 20 years, facilitating US$3.5 billion in total investments.
