Vantage Drilling International signed an agreement for a two-year extension of the Tungsten Explorer contract; the ultra-deepwater drillship will now work until October 2018, the company said Feb. 19.
According to Vantage’s website, Tungsten Explorer is equipped for 10,000 ft of water and designed for 12,000 ft. It can hold 5,032 bbl of base oil, 59,124 bbl of diesel fuel oil and has 28,605 ft of bulk storage. It has a variable deckload of 20,000 metric tons and 2.5 million pounds of static hookload.
The drillship is part of an owned fleet of three ultra-deepwater drillships, including the Platinum Explorer and the Titanium Explorer, and four Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 ultra-premium jackup drilling rigs.
