Wintershall Energía S.A. and Gas y Petróleo del Neuquén S.A. have signed an agreement under which Wintershall will increase its interest in the Aguada Federal Block in central Argentina from 50% to 90%, according to a news release.
In March 2015, Wintershall began its exploration campaign in the Aguada Federal Block and has already drilled two vertical exploration wells, which are being tested. The exploration wells aim to provide information about the characteristics of the crude oil and natural gas reservoir, which includes shale rock of the Vaca Muerta Formation, Wintershall said in the release.
