Saipem has won contracts worth approximately US $1.1 Bn for deepwater E&C (Engineering & Construction) projects offshore North and West Africa.

The Italian contractor was awarded a contract by Burullus Gas Company for the development of the West Delta Deep Marine Phase IXa project, located 90 km offshore Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea. The scope of work encompasses engineering, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning support of subsea facilities in the West Delta Deep Marine Concession, where Saipem has previously successfully performed subsea development phases.

New facilities include rigid and flexible flowlines, umbilicals and other related subsea structures, to be installed in water depths of up to 850 m (2,789 ft). Marine activities will be carried out between the second and the fourth quarters of 2014.

Offshore Angola, meanwhile, Saipem was awarded an EPCI contract for subsea facilities for an unspecified project. The workscope includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of production and water injection pipelines and flowlines, rigid jumpers and other related subsea structures.

Offshore activities will be performed between the second quarter of 2014 and the second quarter of 2015, in water depths ranging from 700-1,450 m (2,297-4,757 ft).

The fabrication activities will be fully carried out in Angola at Saipem’s yards in Soyo and Ambriz.
