The supervisory board of Airborne Oil & Gas (AOG) has named Oliver Kassam as its new CEO, the company said on June 21.

Kassam was most recently at SBM Offshore NV as president and managing director in charge of the company’s activities in Brazil. He has over 20 years of experience in the global offshore services industry holding various senior executive roles.

“With Oliver’s global network and solid commitment to safety and quality, the supervisory board is confident that he can work with the AOG management team to lead the company to the next phase of growth and further success,” Tim van Delden, AOG’s chairman of the supervisory board, said.

Kassam began his career in the oil and gas industry with KBR (NYSE: KBR) in 1996. He has since worked globally with extensive experience in the North Sea, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, West Africa, and Asia. He spent eight years with Subsea7 before joining SBM Offshore NV in 2012, as part of a new management team to restructure the business. He holds an Honors Bachelors’ degree from the University of Brighton in England.

He will start his new position on July 1, 2018 and be based in IJmuiden, The Netherlands.
