Aminex Plc deepened the Ntorya-1 exploration well, in the Ruvuma Basin onshore Tanzania, and found no reservoir potential.
After running a 7-in liner to 2,750 m (9,022 ft), the well deepened to a final depth of 3,150 m (10,334 ft) and wireline logging was carried out. A deeper target horizon identified on seismic at 3,000 m (9,842 ft) was found not to have reservoir potential.
The well will now be plugged to the base of the 7-in liner and completed for testing the gas pay interval. A test program will be conducted after the rig has moved off location.
Noduva Resources Ltd. (Aminex), operates the well, with 75% working interest; and Solo Oil, 25%.
