Atwood Oceanics has been awarded a drilling services contract for its semisubmersible rig Atwood Eagle offshore Australia. The 24-month contract will be carried out at a dayrate of approximately US $460,000, it said. Contract commencement is expected to occur in June 2014 in direct continuation of its present operations. With the award of this contract, said Atwood, the firm contractual commitment for the Atwood Eagle is expected to extend to June 2016.
