Two exploration wells and one development well have intersected oil pay in Egypt and Australia, Beach Energy said in its monthly drilling report for September.
The Martlet-1 exploration well hit 6 m (20 ft) of net oil pay in the Namur Sandstone, the first Namur oil discovery in the PEL 104/111 permits in South Australia’s Cooper Basin.
The El Salmiya-6 development well, located in Egypt’s Western Desert, intersected 52 m (171 ft) of net pay in the primary target Kharita Sandstone, Beach said. The well was flow tested at 2,880 bbl/d and 9.7 MMscf/d of gas through a ¾-in. choke.
The ASA-1X ST3 exploration well, also in Egypt’s Western Desert, intersected 7 m (23 ft) of net pay in the primary target Abu Roash C and 6.5 m (21 ft) of net pay in the secondary target Abu Roash E. The well was flow tested at 2,130 bbl/d from the C and 1,332 bbl/d from the E.
All three wells have been cased and suspended as future oil producers.
