Cobalt International has contracted Doris Engineering to handle the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) study for its planned Cameia leased FPSO development in deepwater Block 20 in the Kwanza Basin offshore Angola (see DI, 6 May 2014, page 1). It is also carrying out subsea studies for Cameia, as part of the so-called Cameia Mound Development Project, currently pencilled in for first oil by 2017. Cobalt also last month revealed its largest oil find in the area, the 400-700 MMbbl Orca (formerly the Baleia prospect) also in Block 20. The company is currently drilling the Cameia-3 well in Block 21, and afterwards will drill the Loengo-1 wildcat in the same block.
