Dutch shipyard Damen has delivered the first of a new vessel type ordered by Swiss vessel manager Promar aimed at the West African market.
The Damen PSV 3300 design ship, named Mamola Reliance, was launched sideways into the Danube river from Damen Shipyard’s Galati construction facility in Romania in time for delivery in early 2015 to Promar.
Several client specifications have been included in the design of the newbuild, for fire-fighting and ROV roles, and the ship is also equipped with oil spill detection radar.
A second PSV 3300 vessel, Mamola Defender, is due for delivery to Promar in August 2015.
