Fluid transfer systems specialist FES International has won a contract to supply two Diverless Bend Stiffener Connector
(DBSC) units for ExxonMobil’s deepwater Kizomba Satellites Phase 2 development offshore Angola. The UK £277,000 (US $429,000) order from Oceaneering International is to be manufactured at FES’s facility in Northumberland, UK and is due to be completed by December this year. The automatic DBSCs will be used to connect an umbilical bend stiffener to the field’s FPSO unit. It will provide an intervention-less subsea installation, and will not require divers or ROVs, said FES.
