Dow Chemical Company has unveiled its Dow Neptune™ advanced subsea flow assurance insulation system as now being fully available. The company’s Neptune P insulation is for line pipe, while its Neptune F insulation is for field joints. Dow says the components have passed multiple rounds of full-scale testing, ensuring performance in HT/HP operating environments in deepwater, as well as in sub-zero cold climate installations and other extreme service conditions. The insulation’s tested physical properties include flexibility down to -40°C (-40°F), thermal stability at service temperatures up to at least 160°C (320°F), and a consistently low K-factor, it added.
