Oslo-listed EMGS is about to commence a new pre-funded electromagnetic survey of deepwater regions in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Work is about to get underway on the 3D multi-client Daybreak survey in the US Gulf of Mexico, which will cover the Alaminos Canyon region in the southern US Gulf of Mexico, EMGS stated.
Up to 1,850 sq km (714 sq miles) will be covered by the survey during which both DHI resistivity and structural imaging data will be acquired to improve sub-salt imaging.
Electromagnetic data acquired during the survey will allow exploration companies to assess acreage in advance of the forthcoming western Gulf of Mexico lease round which is due this fall, the company said.
