Norway’s Farstad Shipping has ordered a subsea vessel to be built at a European yard. The offshore support vessel company signed up for the subsea inspection, maintenance and repair unit to be built at Vard Group’s Tulcea
facility in Romania. The vessel will cost around NOK 825 million (US $136 million) to build, and will be delivered in July 2015. Farstad is due to take delivery of an identical unit (ordered earlier this year at the same yard) in the first quarter of 2015. The STX OSV OSCV 07 design vessel is designed for both subsea and inspection, maintenance and
repair operations.
