A joint venture (JV) formed by GE Oil and Gas in Angola has scored its first major deal to supply subsea hardware.
After delivering an initial 16 subsea trees, the JV called GE-GLS Oil & Gas Angola Ltd. has been contracted to deliver more subsea hardware from its Angola fabrication facility.
The order comprises a further 15 production trees, 12 water injection trees, two water injection manifolds, four production manifolds, topside upgrades and associated equipment for an unnamed project for a major Angola operator. GE facilities in Angola, Norway and the UK were instrumental in designing and manufacturing the initial 16 subsea trees which were assembled locally in a GE facility in Soyo, Angola.
