GE Oil & Gas and Technip have picked contracts for the expansion of Statoil’s CO2 re-injection scheme on its Snøhvit gas field (29/20). Statoil began re-injecting CO2 into the field in April 2008, seven months after gas production began.
GEOG will supply a template/manifold and subsea production hardware - for both production and injection - under a $147mn EPC contract.
Technip will use the reelship Apache II to install two 5km 13% chrome production flowlines and a 5km CO2 pipeline plus the umbilical and the template/manifold and handle tie-ins.
