Höegh LNG has been awarded a pre-Front End Engineering and Design study for a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas facility. The award by the unnamed client, described only as an Asian national oil company, will see Höegh carry out the study for a facility with a 2 MM tonne per annum capacity. The company said it expects work on the project to be finalised in the first quarter of 2014.

“Provided that the conclusion of the engineering work was positive, the client intends to execute a full FEED in the first half of next year,” it said.

Höegh LNG’s President and CEO, Sveinung J.S. Støhle, said: “We are pleased to have been awarded this contract, which is the second significant pre-FEED contract awarded to Höegh LNG in the last months.”
