Hydraulic Systems Inc. announced the appointment of James Bement as its new CEO on Nov. 26.

Effective immediately, James will direct all facets of the company’s business, and will succeed Charles Maurice, who has served as CEO since 2011. Maurice will maintain his role as chairman of the board and will support James during the transition. The Woodlands-based engineering, manufacturing and service company provides hydraulic solutions to drilling contractors, service companies and operators throughout North America.

He brings the right leadership, a strategic mindset and a proven track record of successful growth, to ensure we fully achieve our long-term objectives.”

James was previously senior vice president of Drilling for Forum Energy Technologies, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining Forum, he had more than 30 years’ experience with Halliburton, where he obtained a tremendous breadth of experience in the oilfield service sector as vice president of business development, vice president of the Sperry Drilling product line, vice president of Canada, and vice president of the Drill Bits product line.
