TGS has kicked off the acquisition of a 3D multi-client survey called Sunfish, covering up to 7,800sq km of highly prospective acreage in the Harper Basin offshore West Africa’s Liberia.
The survey will provide data coverage for the source prone, syn-rift and early post-rift sequences in this area. TGS has been active in acquiring data over the West Africa Transform margin for the past decade. The survey demonstrates its ongoing commitment to grow Africa’s seismic data library, according to Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere.
The company is chartering the 12 streamer Polarcus Asima for the survey, with the charter to last for approximately six months.
Data processing will be performed by TGS and will be avail- able to clients in Q4 2013, prior to Liberia’s planned Bid Round later this year. The survey is supported by industry funding.
