Lukoil has completed a field 3D seismic survey at the West Qurna-2 Field in Iraq, fulfilling its contractual obligations to Iraq’s oil ministry, a news release said.
The survey covered an area of about 450 sq km (174 sq miles).
The seismic data obtained are required for updating of the field’s geological model for the discovered formations and prospective horizons, according to the release. The field data will be submitted for processing to a contractor, BGP, a division of China National Petroleum Corp.
