Premier Oil is progressing plans for a 2014/2015 exploration campaign off the Falklands which will see the company participate in a rig-share deal as it seeks to firm up other prospects which could be tacked onto its frontier Sea Lion development.
“The prospect inventory has been matured in collaboration with partners, resulting in a planned exploration programme of at least four wells with multiple stacked targets,” Premier declared in its fourth quarter and 2013 results. “The program will include a well to confirm the presence of a gas cap in the west of Sea Lion,” it added. Premier says it is working to participate in a multi-operator drilling programme starting in 2015: A rig tender has been issued and bids are being evaluated.
