Talisman Energy has been granted a permit to continue using the Petrojarl Varg FPSO beyond its original limit offshor Norway.
Field operator Talisman was told by the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority it can keep using the floater until 2021. The original permit for the FPSO has been extended several times since the Varg field first came onstream in1998. Petrojarl Varg, owned by Teekay Shipping, can store up to 470,000 bbl of oil, and process 57,000 b/d.
