The Kuda Laut-1 well in the Tuna production-sharing contract offshore Indonesia has discovered 56 m (183 ft) of net oil-bearing reservoir and 100 m (327 ft) of net gas-bearing reservoir, operator Premier Oil said in a news release. Oil and gas samples have been recovered to surface.
Following the completion of evaluation operations, the well will be sidetracked to drill the Singa Laut prospect in the adjacent fault block.
Premier also made a gas discovery in Pakistan in the K-36 well on the Kadanwari Block. It encountered a total net gas pay of 20 m (65 ft). The well was tied in to the Kadanwari facilities and has been on production since April 16. Operations of the K-34 well on the Kadanwari Block are ongoing with results expected in May.
