Repsol has signed an exploration and production agreement with the Government of Guyana allowing it to search for oil and gas in the Kanuku block.

The 4-year agreement will allow the Spanish company to carry out early exploration activity in the block, located approximately 161 km offshore Guyana in South America.

According to GINA, Guyana’s Government Information Agency, Repsol will conduct 2D and 3D seismic surveys, followed by an exploration well in the second phase of the licence.
