Subsea 7’s joint venture in Mexico has been awarded a US $90m contract by state-owned Pemex to carry out work in the Bay of Campeche. The workscope comprises the engineering, fabrication and installation of an 8 km pipeline, related risers, two slug catchers and two cantilever structures for the Line 67 Project. This is the second contract awarded to the joint venture, said Subsea 7. Project management and engineering will be handled from the joint venture’s offices in Ciudad del Carmen and Houston. Offshore operations are due to start in the third quarter of this year, with pipelay activities to be carried out in the fourth quarter using the Seven Borealis vessel.
