Schlumberger closed on its acquisition of ThruBit BV, a Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1 BV portfolio company formed in 2005.
ThruBit provides open-hole logging solutions based on a unique “through-the-bit” deployment technique that provides significant advantages in many applications, including in horizontal and highly deviated wells and in situations where downhole conditions make use of traditional wireline logging impractical.
The company is based in Houston and currently operates in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. ThruBit couples its patented Portal™ Bit with specially designed conveyance components and ultra-slim open-hole logging tools to consistently and successfully capture logs in even the most difficult logging situations.
